Back Up Double Back Up and then Clouds

If you had your phone photos all lost due to what ever reasons you know how painful it is to lost all that memories. I personally have lost one full year of photos in my life. So I know your pain more than you know.

Back up your photos, assets, or memories are essential and right now I am very passionate about it as you might know the reason above. Check out my last post on organising your photos to makes thing easier.

For photos I used two hard drives with different brand name. But personally have not had a failed Western Digital (WD) hard drive fail on me yet. That’s the brand I trusted with my photos. Why I have another brand as a backup? Cause you don’t know what will happen so I’m better safe than sorry. My 2nd hard drive store offsite just in case something goes wrong in my principal home and I back up once a month or few weeks. So the most data I going to lose is a month if something fail.

Also for photos I use Smugmug to upload all the edited one that I wish to store or share online. I know Smugmug charge you a fee for the service but that’s just a small amount to pay for the piece of mind that your photos/memories stay on the clouds somewhere.

For videos my clouds backup is Youtube. Yes it’s free and you could download it back if you want to. I know some of my old videos are still on Youtube and that’s the memory for me that stays in the clouds.

My other back up is Adobe Stock. I know you might not going to make any money with stock footages. But for me it just another way to save the footage in the clouds. If I make some money good other wise I know there’s another backup somewhere out there that I could download from.

Stock footages only allow good photos and videos right? Yes and that the one you want to back up right? Some are personal stuff and you still could back it up in the clouds with Smugmug and Youtube. Just set it to private and it’s there for you.
