Another creative shot that probably 200 other photographers on the same they of Trey Ratcliff\’s Photowalk missed out. Photographers often obsessed with sharpness and the photos sometime can become boring and very clique especially at Mrs Macquarie\’s Chair. The best view on the Opera House and Harbour Bridge that thousands of them have been taken.Continue reading “Vivid Sydney 2016: Curtain of Lights”

Vivid Sydney 2016 Sydney Town Hall
Another recognised icon in Sydney was illuminated during Vivid Sydney. It sits right on the busiest intersection in Sydney\’s CBD. I was on the opposite side of the street and simply enjoy the experience of being there. See the hectic people, the traffic jam and no one looks up and simply enjoy the scenery intriguedContinue reading “Vivid Sydney 2016 Sydney Town Hall”
Vivid Sydney 2016 Darling Harbour
Last night of Vivid Sydney and I\’ll miss it. There\’s a few places this year that I was not keen to photograph. I\’m not sure I could be back in Sydney next year to photograph Vivid Sydney. But I think I have enough memory of Vivid to last me a long time.
Vivid Sydney 2016 Custom House
This year show was not as spectacular as last year. But it better than a custom house without any light show on it. Don\’t take my word for it, see it for yourself.
Vivid Sydney 2016 CBD Zoom Effect
Zoom Effect? What is that? Simply you are using a zoom lens and when you take a photo on a tripod you zoom in or out. Experiment a little and you\’re be surprised of the results. That\’s it, a very simple effect that is one of the oldest trick in photography.
Vivid Sydney 2016 Opera House
I was on the road out in the outback when Vivid Sydney was on, but I don\’t want to miss this year show. So from Ulluru I drove all the way back to Sydney for this shot here. Basically I have photograph two of the most iconic Australia landmarks in a about a few weeks.Continue reading “Vivid Sydney 2016 Opera House”
Vivid Sydney 2016 Royal Botanical Gardens
One of the new additions to this year Vivid Sydney is the Royal Botanical Gardens and it also coincided with the garden 200 years anniversary. I\’ve been to the gardens many time but never at night. Usually the garden closed after sunset so the public usually don\’t have a chance to access to the gardenContinue reading “Vivid Sydney 2016 Royal Botanical Gardens”
Vivid Sydney 2016 Blurred Bridge
Just want to tried something different for the audiences. The view from Mrs Macquarie\’s Chair has been shot to death. I just want to experiment a little bit. The view from here is the best in Sydney in my opinion either sunset or viewing the city skyline.
Vivid Sydney 2016: Kirribilli View
Another shot from the north of the Harbour Bridge. This year the lighting is on the eastern side of the Harbour Bridge. So the shot was very different from the previous year. There\’s probably two more angles that I need to capture when the lighting is on the eastern side. Have to make an effortContinue reading “Vivid Sydney 2016: Kirribilli View”
Vivid Sydney 2016 Sydney Harbour Bridge
Winter is an exciting time for cityscape photographer in Sydney. The town is transformed into lighting spectaculars. Usually it goes for two weeks in the past but due to the popularity of this event the organisers has extended this year to three weeks.Perfect as it rain usually around this time every year. It certainly makesContinue reading “Vivid Sydney 2016 Sydney Harbour Bridge”
